That theme of release continues on The Seasons Have Changed, where a narrator breaks free from a controlling, self-absorbed partner. Using natural imagery of shifting winds and flowing rivers, the song frames the end of the relationship not as cruelty but as inevitable growth, insisting that the river must flow and that choosing self-respect over subservience is sometimes the only path to survival.

The Season’s Have Changed lyrics
I woke up this morning, with the sun in my eyes
Fell out of your bed, with my head full of lies
Picked myself up of your dirty floor
And crawled on my knees to head for the door
You love me to do what you want me to do
And to constantly think only about you

But Honey I wonder how do I explain
The seasons have changed, you’re acting so vain
Acting so vain, you’re acting so vain, so vain

I do the opposite to what I’m told to do
You say it’s me, but you know it’s you
Do you just love me as long as I’m good
You can’t see the trees for the wood

Oh sweet little darling, you are not to blame
The seasons have changed
Oh sweet little darling you are not to blame
The seasons have changed, I’ve changed all the same
All the same, I’ve changed all the same
I’ve changed all the same

It used to be like that, but now it’s like this
There’s a part of me that your gonna miss
Come on baby everyone has to grow
I can’t stand still the river must flow

You must learn to lose, you can’t always win
Either you sink or you learn how to swim
I’m just drifting out of your range
The winds may have shifted and the seasons must have changed
The seasons must have changed

You love me to do what you want me to do
And to constantly think only about you
How do I explain
The seasons have changed, you’re acting so vain
Acting so vain, you’re acting so vain
The seasons have changed
You’re acting so vain, you’re acting so vain, you’re acting so vain
The seasons have changed, the seasons have changed
The seasons have changed, the seasons have changed
