Were Those The Days by ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) was a song we wrote for Sir Cliff Richard. I was invited by his personal secretary to send songs to him after a song I co-wrote opened the Hallmark Movie Channel’s 2018 film ‘Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane’ starring Alicia Witt and Colin Ferguson that was watched by an estimated 82 million viewers and was repeated over 50 times over the 2018 and 2019 Christmas holiday periods and the song now appears on our album BELIEF.

Were Those The Days Lyrics
Those were the days of wine, women and song
Oh Mary, don’t tell me that I’m wrong
Has nostalgia made me blind?
Can I be so wrong this time?

Those were the days
Were those the days?
All lost in a foggy haze
Those were the days
Were those the days?

Things were better then, or so they say
More time to breathe, more time to play
Maybe my mind’s playing tricks
Now or then, should I pick?

I was younger then and in my prime
Things have changed with the passage of time
Things were slow, now they move too fast
In this day and age things aren’t built to last
This day and age things aren’t built to last

Those were the days
Were those the days?
All lost in a foggy haze
Those were the days
Were those the days?

Those were the days of wine, women and song
Oh Mary, don’t tell me that I’m wrong
Has nostalgia made me blind?
Can I be so wrong this time?

Those were the days
Were those the days?
All lost in a foggy haze
Those were the days
Were those the days?

Those were the days
Were those the days?
All lost in a foggy haze
Those were the days
Were those the days?
