How Long Must We Wait? is a song that we, ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) originally wrote for Sir Cliff Richard. I was invited by his personal secretary to send songs to him after a song I co-wrote opened the Hallmark Movie Channel’s 2018 film ‘Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane’ starring Alicia Witt and Colin Ferguson that was watched by an estimated 82 million viewers and was repeated numerous times over the 2018 and 2019 Christmas holiday periods, but because of the cancellation of Cliff’s upcoming 2020 UK tour due to the Coronavirus the song wasn’t accepted. The song now appears on our album BELIEF.

How Long Must We Wait? Lyrics
I’ve been waiting for you to come
Like night time waits for the rising sun
To give light and life to this earth
Like a good Mother giving birth

I’ll follow you till the end of time
For as long as the sun continues to shine
For as long as the earth turns in space
How long, how long till I see your face?
How long must I wait?
How long must I wait?
How long must I wait?
How long, how long must I wait?

Your face will shine brighter than the sun
You will be seen by everyone
There’s a donkey in the stable
He’s willing, ready and able
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?

One day you’ll be here
I can’t say what day or year
For I know and believe that it’s true
I have always put all my faith in you

Just give us the word
That all the world will hear
That you’re on the way
I can’t wait for that day
How long must I wait?
How long must I wait?
How long must I wait?
How long must I wait, Lord?

Your face will shine brighter than the sun
You will be seen by everyone
There’s a donkey in the stable
He’s willing, ready and able
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?

Tell me, how long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
How long must we wait?
Tell me, how long?
