Alkebulan is a fierce Afro-beat anthem that chronicles the continent’s journey from the cradle of humanity to a battleground for justice. The track opens by honoring Africa as the origin of all people, but immediately transitions into a raw confrontation with history, addressing the trauma of the transatlantic slave trade and the devastating impact of colonization.
The song critiques both past and present exploiters, detailing how foreign aggressors “raped the land” for resources like diamonds and gold while imposing their culture. However, the song fiercely holds current leaders accountable, condemning modern corruption that allows a few to grow wealthy while the poor suffer from disease and hunger.
Using heartbreakingly vivid imagery of a village woman’s daily struggle for water, contrasted with the superficial nature of celebrity charity (adopting “token babies”), the track demands deep, systemic change. “Alkebulan” concludes not in despair, but with a resonant, Pan-African rallying cry. It calls for all African brothers and sisters to unite against oppression, defeat corruption, and reclaim control of their land’s vast wealth for the benefit of every man, woman, and child.

Alkebulan lyrics
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan
Africa the Mother of Mankind’s creation
Alkebulan
Africa gave birth to people’s in all nations
Alkebulan
They came there from African migration
Alkebulan
Africa the continent of exploitation
Alkebulan
White man left our country in devastation
Oh Africa, oh Africa, Africa, Oh Africa
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan
I see the ghosts of my people on slavery ships
They be chained, whipped and hit
Taken from Africa
To Europe and America
Taken from Africa
To Europe and America
Over 200 years of white man’s aggression
Zimbabwe and South Africa kicked out the oppression
African leaders corruption brings them power and wealth
They don’t care for the lives of their poor people or their health
Africa, oh Africa, Africa, Oh Africa
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan,
Alkebulan, oh Africa
The white man converted us to Christianity
They travelled 10,000 miles for this insanity
Why couldn’t they just leave us alone
Who invited them into our lands, into our homes
They rape our land for diamonds
They rape our land for gold
They use our children as slave labour
The truth is not allowed to be told
Africa, oh Africa, Africa, Oh Africa
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan
Village woman walks 5 miles to the well
Water is precious here you can tell
The babies they die of hunger and disease
Covered by flies in the heat of 120 degrees
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan
And the stars come and adopt a token baby
Has the world gone crazy
With all the wealth that they got
What about the 1,000’s of others they forgot
Africa, oh Africa, Africa, Oh Africa
All African brothers and sisters unite
Corruption and oppression they must fight
And take control of the wealth of the land
To benefit every African woman, child and man
Africa, oh Africa, Africa, Oh Africa
The Mother of Mankind’s creation
Alkebulan, Alkebulan, Alkebulan
Africa, Alkebulan
