Time To Change is a powerful, allegorical reflection on mortality, the consequences of ego, and the urgent necessity of self-redemption. Through vivid and turbulent imagery—a falling bird, a speeding train on rusted tracks, and a ship lost in a violent storm—the lyrics illustrate the fragility of life and the danger of refusing to adapt or “bend” with the circumstances. The recurring refrain acts as a desperate, fatherly plea for transformation, emphasizing that while time is fleeting and the “gate” is closing, it is never too late to look in the mirror and choose a different path. It is a song about the heavy weight of the past meeting the hopeful possibility of the future.

Time To Change lyrics
A bird falls from the screaming sky
It climbed way above far too high
You see freedom has borders and has lines
Prisoners are we of old father time
Petrified truth is all that you hear
Seeing reality is what you have to fear

Our time here now isn’t long
It’s never too late to right the wrong
Your time will come, your time will come
Look in the mirror, and change my son

A train is cutting through the burning rain
Like blood pumping through your narrow veins
It’s a one way train never coming back
As it hurtles down old rusted twisted tracks
Coming off the rails one windy fast turn
If you don’t bend with the wind you will burn

Our time here now isn’t long
It’s never too late to right the wrong
Your time will come, your time will come
Look in the mirror, and change my son

Ships are sailing on stormy nights
Dark clouds smother the moon light
And the rolling sea rises and it falls
Pulling you in like the devil’s call
Onto rocks that pierce your side
As into the cold black void you slide

Our time here now isn’t long
It’s never too late to right the wrong
Your time will come, your time will come
Look in the mirror, and change my son

You have to change before it’s too late
Before you reach that closing gate
No-one knows what will be their fate
It’s near the time of the end, tell heaven to wait
So change my son before it’s too late
Change my son before it’s too late

Our time here now isn’t long
It’s never too late to right the wrong
Your time will come, your time will come
Look in the mirror, and change my son

Oh your time will come, your time will come
Look at what has passed, and change my son
Oh your time will come, your time will come
Look to the future, and change my son
Look to the future, and change my son
