Immigrants is the 6th track from the album Holy Land, the 61st album of 10 original songs written, produced and with all lyrics and vocals by Paul Robert Thomas
*
“A moving, defiant anthem about the immigrant experience. It highlights the pain of exploitation, racism, and political scapegoating, while powerfully shifting the narrative. Ultimately, it is a celebratory declaration of resilience, resilience-driven strength, and an undeniable right to belong”.

Immigrants lyrics
We came from distant lands
To be right here with you
With the labour of our hands
We did the work that others wouldn’t do

The work was hard, the pay was poor
Sometimes we wondered what we came here for
We face hate, we faced discrimination
From the inhabitants of this nation

They called us ‘dirty immigrants
Taking their jobs
Dirty immigrants
They rape and they rob’

Politicians used us like pawns in their games
Giving us all dirty names
Making us the scapegoats for all that’s wrong
But all their lies just make us strong, make us strong

For we are the immigrants
We made this country strong
We are the immigrants
This is where we belong
We are the immigrants
We made this country strong
We are the immigrants
This is where we belong

They tell us to go back home
But we’re already here
They might hurl sticks and stones
But we won’t disappear

We have a right to stay
This is now our home
We bless our freedom every day
We’ll no more wander or roam, wander or roam

Coz we are the immigrants
We made this country strong
We are the immigrants
This is where we belong

We were all once immigrants
We came from other lands
We were all once immigrants
So be kind and understand

That we are the immigrants
We made this country strong
We are the immigrants
This is where we belong

We are the immigrants
This is where we belong
This is where we belong
