Hi! My name is Paul Robert Thomas (a.k.a. Paul Thomas a.k.a. ‘Paul Lyricist’) & I am a song lyricist (try saying that after a few beers:)! I was born & grew up in North London with Camden Town, Swiss Cottage, Primrose Hill & Regents Park as my playgrounds. I have some Welsh blood in me too as my mother & grand mother were from Wales.
I have worked and I work with many artists worldwide irrespective of race, religion, colour or gender with the aim of creating songs for release on CD’s or as downloads (see my ‘Released Albums‘ page).
My current main active music collaborations are with the great singer/songwriter/composer Paul Odiase, an ex-Londoner who now resides just outside of Bern in Switzerland in a song writing team called ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s), as we are both called ‘Paul’:) – check us, ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) out on Facebook and our official page HERE and we have recently released our 8th album called A Mile Until Dawn HERE.
My musical & lyrical roots are drawn from English Folk, Blues, Rock, nursery rhymes and church hymns and American Folk, Blues, Rock and Christian/Gospel songs. I believe that the act of creation, in this instance, creating songs, is a gift from God.
I have worked with/for and met many famous people from The Queen and royalty to presidents, politicians, actors and musicians and I’m really not easily impressed by titles – what matters most is who you are, not what you are or what title you hide behind.
I will consider working with an artist only if they are honest, polite and considerate and can also make good music (no matter what type of music) – these are the main traits I look for in a song collaboration and I will only work with people who have manners and are looking to share 50/50 – I detest and have no time for those all too many in the ‘music world’ who are looking to make a ‘fast buck’ off the back of someone else!
On my site you will find loads of officially released songs, albums, concert video’s, articles, interviews and will also discover what Andy Warhol said to me when we met and what the late great Robert Johnson’s grandson wrote to me and also what Buckingham Palace recently sent me regarding a song we sent to Prince William and Kate on the birth of Prince George and lots more too:)!
Thank you and wishing you all the best from Paul.
