I love writing songs that seem to have a happy musical accompaniment but are in fact ‘dark songs’ and an example of this is our, ‘Les Paul’s’ (The Paul’s) song ‘There’s Stormy Weather’ from our recently released album ‘Night Worker’. The song is about the influx of Islamic refugees coming in from the east and the ‘storm’ that is erupting in every land they enter and will eventually explode!.

There’s Stormy Weather Lyrics
Red fields of Poppy’s
Blowing in the wind
Haunted whispers and violins
Float down from the mountain

Olive trees shake in the breeze
Doves are being shot
We’re in a deep deep freeze
Though they tell us that we’re not
Though they tell us that we’re not

There’s a shadow in the house
Yellow men on the moon
Hurricane’s way down south
In the month of June

Stormy weather, stormy weather, stormy weather

Just a lone voice in the wilderness
A tear drop in the rain
Can you feel the hopelessness
And the pain?

Hear thunder on the mountains
Smoke rising in the air
People screaming and shouting
Everywhere

There’s stormy weather
Blowing in from the east
Hell bent for leather
Waiting for the feast

Best say goodbye
To your next of kin
Our souls will fly on high
Right next to our king

Red fields of Poppy’s
Blowing in the wind
Haunted whispers and violins
Float down from the mountain

Olive trees shake in the breeze
Doves are being shot
We’re in a deep deep freeze
Though they tell us that we’re not

There’s a shadow in the house
Yellow men on the moon
Hurricane’s way down south
In the month of June

Just a lone voice in the wilderness
A tear drop in the rain

Stormy weather, stormy weather

Just a lone voice in the wilderness
A tear drop in the rain
Can you feel the hopelessness
And the pain?

Hear thunder on the mountains
Smoke rising in the air
People screaming and shouting
Everywhere

Lord, there’s stormy weather
Blowing in from the east
Hell bent for leather
Waiting for the feast

Best say goodbye
To your next of kin
Our souls will fly on high
Right next to our king, Lord
